AppDNA 7.14 includes the following enhancements and new features: 

Updates to default OS images

All default OS images have been updated to capture extra .NET information for the FIPS analysis in the Compliance Manager module.

An install or upgrade will replace default OS images for:

  • Microsoft Windows 10
  • Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 8.1
  • Microsoft Windows XP (32-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Microsoft Windows 2003 (32-bit)

The following default OS images have been removed. An install will no longer add these default OS images, however an upgrade to 7.14 will not remove or update these default OS images:

  • Microsoft Windows XP (64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (32-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (64-bit)

Fewer default OS images results in a faster install. If you are using Microsoft SQL Server Express, fewer default OS images result in more space available for apps.

You can still import your own versions of these OS images. For information on how to import OS images, see Operating system images.

Expanded security analysis

The Compliance Manager module helps you understand if applications that you are planning to deploy into your IT infrastructure might introduce security risks. In this release, the Compliance Manager module expands its scope of security analysis. New algorithms identify and report on FIPS compliance, NTLM authentication, and compatibility with Credential Guard on Windows 10.
To view the algorithms, click Configure > Modules > Compliance Manager.

Once you have imported and analyzed the applications, you can view the reports from Applications > Compliance Manager > Security. Reports provide analysis by application, and offer remediation actions for the issues identified.
