Create a Citrix Receiver for Web site

Jul 29, 2016

Use the Create Website task to add Citrix Receiver for Web sites, which enable users to access stores through a webpage.

Important: In multiple server deployments, use only one server at a time to make changes to the configuration of the server group. Ensure that the Citrix StoreFront management console is not running on any of the other servers in the deployment. Once complete, propagate your configuration changes to the server group so that the other servers in the deployment are updated.
  1. On the Windows Start screen or Apps screen, locate and click the Citrix StoreFront tile.
  2. Select the Citrix Receiver for Web node in the left pane of the Citrix StoreFront management console and, in the Actions pane, click Create Website.
  3. Select the store for which you want to create the Citrix Receiver for Web site. To create a site for a store hosted on another server, select Remote store and specify the URL of the remote store.
  4. If you want to alter the URL to which users will browse to access the Citrix Receiver for Web site, make the required changes in the Website path box. Click Create and then, once the site has been created, click Finish.

The URL for users to access the Citrix Receiver for Web site is displayed. For more information about modifying settings for Citrix Receiver for Web sites, see Configure Citrix Receiver for Web sites.

By default, when a user accesses a Citrix Receiver for Web site from a computer running Windows or Mac OS X, the site attempts to determine whether Citrix Receiver is installed on the user's device. If Citrix Receiver cannot be detected, the user is prompted to download and install the appropriate Citrix Receiver for their platform from the Citrix website. For more information about modifying this behavior, see Disable detection and deployment of Citrix Receiver.

The default configuration for Citrix Receiver for Web sites requires that users install a compatible version of Citrix Receiver to access their desktops and applications. However, you can enable Citrix Receiver for HTML5 on your Citrix Receiver for Web sites so that users who cannot install Citrix Receiver can still access resources. For more information, see Configure Citrix Receiver for Web sites.
