Adding Web Links in App Controller

A Web link is a web address to an Internet or intranet site. A web link can also point to a web application that doesn't require single sign-on (SSO).

You can configure web links from the Apps & Docs tab in App Controller. When you finish configuring the web link, the link appears as an icon in the store in App Controller. When users log on with Citrix Receiver or Worx Home, the link appears with the list of available apps and desktops.

In the App Controller management console, you provide the following information:

To configure a Web link

  1. In the App Controller management console, click the Apps & Docs tab.
  2. In the left pane, under Apps & Docs > APPS, click Web Link and then click the plus sign (+) in the details pane.
  3. In the Configure App dialog box, complete the following:
    1. In App Name, type a name for the link.
    2. In Description, type a description of the link.
    3. In URL, enter the full Web address of the site, such as
    4. If applicable, select the App is hosted in the internal network check box.
    5. If applicable, select Require app installation if users save the link on their device.
    6. In Category, select the category in which the link appears in Citrix Receiver.
    7. In Assigned Role, select the role. This is a mandatory field.
    8. In Image, select Use default to use the default Citrix logo or select Upload to add your own logo to the logon page.
    9. If you want to upload your own logo, click Browse and then navigate to the logo on your device.
      Note: The graphic you upload must be the type PNG. You cannot upload a GIF or JPEG graphic. You can upload a custom graphic when you create a web link. After you save the web link, you cannot change the graphic.
    10. Click Save.
