Uneven load balancing detection

When you configure a load balancing virtual server with many services, in certain scenarios you might observe that one or more of the servers are assigned less load than others. In such situations, the response time of the application might be long, or the application performance might be reduced.

Advanced Analytics helps you identify such issues so that you can make changes to the configuration, such as fine tuning the network configuration such that the load is distributed evenly across all the backend servers.

Note: Uneven load balancing detection works only if the load balancing algorithm is set to Least connection method.

To view the Uneven Load Balancing errors:

  1. In a web browser, log on to Citrix Application Delivery Management (Citrix ADM).

  2. In User Name and Password, enter the administrator credentials.

  3. On the Application Dashboard, double click the application tile of the application for which you want to view the server errors.

  4. In the App Activity Investigator section, select the error legend plotted for Uneven LB on the graph.

  5. In the Uneven LB Anomaly Details section, you can compare the service hits received by each of the services that caused the uneven load balancing errors, and the response time trend, along with the other details such as Virtual server name, Service Name, Service IP Address.
