Configure Intelligent App Analytics

The Intelligent App Analytics feature is supported only in Citrix ADC 12.1.50.x or later. Metrics Collector pushes the Citrix ADC counter data to Citrix ADM, which is used to detect application issues. To use the Intelligent App Analytics feature, Metrics Collector must be configured on each Citrix ADC instance. By default, Metrics Collector is enabled on Citrix ADC, while you add the instance to Citrix ADM.

To ensure if Metrics Collector is enabled:

  1. Navigate to Networks > Instances > Citrix ADC and select the type of instance you want to monitor (for example, Citrix ADC VPX).

  2. Select the Citrix ADC instance.

  3. From the Select Action list, select Metrics Collector.

If you want to disable the intelligent app analytics feature:

  1. Navigate to Networks > Instances > Citrix ADC.

  2. Select the Citrix ADC that you want to disable intelligent app analytics.

  3. From the Select Action list, select Metrics Collector.

  4. On the Configure Metrics Collector settings page, clear the Enable option and click OK.

  2. From the list of instances, select an instance.

  3. From Select Action list, select Configure Analytics.

  4. In Application List, select the virtual servers and click Enable AppFlow.

    Note

Citrix ADM uses Citrix ADC SNIP for Logstream and NSIP for IPFIX. If there is a firewall enabled between Citrix ADM and Citrix ADC instance, ensure you open the following port to enable Citrix ADM to collect AppFlow traffic:

Transport Mode Source IP Type Port
    IPFIX NSIP UDP 4739
    Logstream SNIP TCP 5557
  6. Click OK.

If your Citrix ADM version is 13.0 build 41.x, then follow the procedure to enable analytics on virtual servers.

View the details of the applications

After you configure analytics, you can view the details such as anomalies, events for virtual servers, and services associated with the application on the Application Overview dashboard.

  1. Navigate to Applications > Dashboard.

The Application Overview dashboard is displayed.

  2. On the Application Overview dashboard, double-click on the application that you want to monitor.

  3. Hover your mouse pointer on the legend to display the timestamp of the anomaly or event. You can use the time period drop-down and view the graph specific to the selected time line.
