Service flaps or suboptimal virtual server health

As a network administrator, you must ensure for optimal availability of the application. When there are any network issues or configuration issues, the status and availability of an application server might impact the overall performance.

Using the service flaps events, you can identify the application that has issues. Service flaps events also help you:

  • Understand which service is in DOWN status for a specific duration

  • Understand how many services are in UP or DOWN state for a specific duration

Citrix ADM displays notifications containing this information. You can further drill down to see the associated details or reasons for the flapping, and make informed decisions about corrective measures.

To view service flaps:

  1. Navigate to Applications > Dashboard. The Application Overview page is displayed.

  2. On the Application Overview page, double-click on the application that you want to view the service flaps.

  3. In the App Activity Investigator section, click the error legend plotted for Service Flaps on the graph.
