System requirements
Before you install Citrix Application Delivery Management (ADM), you must understand the software requirements, browser requirements, port information, license information, and limitations.
Requirements for Citrix ADM
Component | Requirement |
---|---|
RAM | 32 GB |
Virtual CPU | 8 CPUs |
Note: Citrix recommends using solid-state drive (SSD) technology for Citrix ADM deployments. | |
Storage space | The default value is 120 GB. Actual storage requirement depends on Citrix ADM sizing estimation. Use the sizing calculator mentioned in the Maximum limits section (page number 7) in the Citrix ADM HA Deployment Guide. This guide is available at our download site, under NetScaler MAS Release 12.1 > Earlier Versions. Note: you need a Citrix account to access the deployment guide and sizing calculator. |
If your Citrix ADM storage requirement exceeds 120 GB, you to have to attach an additional disk. You can add only one additional disk. | |
Citrix recommends you to estimate storage and attach additional disk at the time of initial deployment. | |
For more information, see How to Attach an Additional Disk to Citrix ADM. | |

Requirements for Citrix ADM analytics
Minimum Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops versions required for Citrix ADM features
Citrix ADM Feature | Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Version |
---|---|
HDX Insight | Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7.0 and later |
Note
The Citrix Gateway feature (branded as Access Gateway Enterprise for versions 9.3 and 10.x) must be available on the Citrix ADC instance. Citrix ADM does not support standalone Access Gateway Standard appliances.
Citrix ADM can generate reports for applications that are published on Citrix Virtual Apps or Citrix Virtual Desktops and accessed through Citrix Receiver. However, this capability depends on the operating system on which Receiver is installed. Currently, a Citrix ADC does not parse ICA traffic for applications or desktops that are accessed through Citrix Receiver running on iOS or Android operating systems.

Supported ports
Citrix ADM uses the Citrix ADC IP (known as NSIP) address to communicate with Citrix ADC. You can use ADM agent as an intermediary between the ADC instance and ADM or the SD-WAN instance and ADM. To establish a communication with these servers, open the required ports.
Note
If you have configured Citrix ADCs in High Availability mode, Citrix ADM uses the Citrix ADC subnet IP (Management SNIP) address to communicate with Citrix ADC. For communication using SNIP with Citrix ADM, the required ports remain the same.
The following sections explain the required ports and their purpose:
Ports for the ADM server
This table explains the required ports that must be open on the ADM server.
Port | Type | Details | Direction of communication | |
---|---|---|---|---|
5454 and 22 | TCP | Default port for communication, and database synchronization in between Citrix ADM nodes in high availability mode. | Citrix ADM primary node to Citrix ADM secondary node | |
443/8443/7443 | TCP | Port for communication between Citrix ADM agent and Citrix ADM. | Citrix ADM agent initiates the communication with Citrix ADM. Then, Citrix ADM and agent interacts with each other. |
If the ADM and ADC instances are not using an agent for communication, ensure to open the following ports on the ADM server:
