Updating Citrix Hypervisor Center

When a new version of Citrix Hypervisor Center is available, Citrix Hypervisor Center displays the notification Citrix Hypervisor Center Update in the menu bar.

The update notification

Click this notification to choose one of the following actions:

  • Download and Install: Citrix Hypervisor Center downloads the update file, verifies its checksum, and launches the installer.

By default, Citrix Hypervisor Center launches automatically after the installation process has completed. You can change this behavior in the Citrix Hypervisor Center Setup wizard.

If you have events running in Citrix Hypervisor Center, Citrix Hypervisor Center alerts you of the status of these events. It prompts you to either abort the installation or to exit Citrix Hypervisor Center and continue the installation.

  • <version> Release Notes: Open a browser window to view the release notes for the new version of Citrix Hypervisor Center on the web.

You can prompt Citrix Hypervisor Center to check for updates by going to Help > Check For Updates.

You choose whether to automatically check for updates by going to Tools > Options and then to the Updates panel, deselect Check for new versions of Citrix Hypervisor Center.

You can configure a proxy server that Citrix Hypervisor Center goes through to check for and download updates. For more information, see Proxy server.

Note:

To provide update notifications and automatic updates, Citrix Hypervisor Center requires internet access. If your Citrix Hypervisor Center is behind a firewall, ensure that it has access to subdomains on the cloud.com domain through the firewall.

If you cannot allow your Citrix Hypervisor Center access to the internet and want to instead update it manually, new versions of the Citrix Hypervisor Center installer are periodically supplied on the Citrix Hypervisor product downloads page. New versions of the installer are not provided as frequently as the automatic updates.
