This diagram helps
you work out the details of your user profile migration strategy. It also
explains these aspects of performance:
- When you migrate
a profile, two network copies can take place, which slows down the logon
process. For example, the operation “Copy default profile to local Pm profile
and to user store” first involves a full profile copy from the roaming profile
store to the local computer and then a second full profile copy from the local
computer to the user store.
- When a cached
profile is used, no copying of profile data across the network takes place.
Read the diagram
from the bottom to the top. Check the desired operations in the boxes at the
bottom (for example, “Copy default profile to local Pm profile and to user
store”) and track a path back to identify the required migration settings.
