Recent announcements

  • Support for Android 6.x version of Secure Web ended on September 15, 2020.

  • Secure Hub for iOS supports iOS 14.

  • Secure Mail for Android and Secure Web for Android support Android 11.

  • Support for Android 6.x version of Secure Hub and Secure Mail ended on June 30, 2020.

  • The Secure Hub 20.6.5 release is the final release that supports a 32-bit architecture for Android mobile apps. In subsequent releases, Secure Hub supports the 64-bit architecture. Citrix recommends that users upgrade to Secure Hub version 20.6.5, so that users can upgrade to later versions without reauthentication.

  • MDX Encryption end of life is fast approaching, be sure to switch your Citrix mobile productivity apps from MDX encryption to platform encryption before the end of July 2020. Platform encryption will be enforced on both Citrix apps and third-party apps beginning August 1, 2020, to an increasing percentage of users over the month.

Earlier announcements

Support ended for the Android 6.x and iOS 11.x versions of Secure Hub, Secure Mail, Secure Web, and Citrix Workspace app in June 2020.

The mobile productivity apps support iOS 13.

Google has announced deprecation of Google Cloud Messaging. Citrix encourages customers to enable Firebase Cloud Messaging service (FCM) for uninterrupted mail sync and notifications on Android devices. For more information on how to enable Firebase Cloud Messaging read Google Cloud Messaging Deprecated by Google in this Citrix Knowledge Center article. Also a Citrix ADC customer? To help prevent potential enrollment issues, read this Citrix Knowledge Center article.

Support for Android 5.x ended on December 31, 2018. For more information about supported device platforms for enterprise mobility management, see Supported device operating systems.

iOS 12 support announcement: We offer zero-day support for iOS 12. For Secure Mail, with iOS 12, we support the Group notifications feature. With this feature, conversations are grouped from a mail thread. You can quickly glance at grouped notifications on the lock screen of your device. Group notification settings are enabled by default on the device.

Note:

The Citrix VPN connection type in the VPN device policy for iOS doesn’t support iOS 12. Delete your VPN device policy and create a VPN device policy with the Citrix SSO connection type. For details, see VPN device policy.

Android P upgrade note: Before upgrading to the Android P platform: Ensure that your server infrastructure is compliant with security certificates that have a matching host name in the subjectAltName (SAN) extension. To verify a host name, the server must present a certificate with a matching SAN. Certificates must contain a SAN matching the host name to be trusted. For details, see the Android Developer site article on Android P behavior changes.

Announcement on September 14, 2018: To meet a Google Play requirement due on November 1, 2018, we’ve altered our Secure Mail for Android background services. These services handle mail sync and notifications. The result of meeting this requirement is restrictions in Android 8 background execution limits to regulate resource usage. These restrictions might negatively affect Secure Mail synchronization, which occurs in the background. To make sure mail sync and notifications operate reliably, enable push notifications based on Firebase Cloud Messaging service (FCM) in Citrix Endpoint Management before November 1, 2018. Then, users must also turn on notifications for Secure Mail for Android. For steps to configure FCM-based push notifications, see Push notifications for Secure Mail. For more details from the Support Knowledge Center, see this article.

Other considerations

For end of life dates for earlier apps, such as ScanDirect, Secure Forms, Secure Notes, and Secure Tasks, see EOL and deprecated apps.

About the Citrix unified product portfolio:

If you’ve been a Citrix customer or partner for a while, you’ll notice new names in our products and in this product documentation. The new product and component names stem from the expanding Citrix portfolio and cloud strategy. For more detail about the Citrix unified portfolio, see the Citrix product guide.

Implementing this transition in our products and their documentation is an ongoing process. In-product content might still contain former names. For example, you might see instances of earlier names in console text, messages, and directory/file names. It is possible that some items (such as commands and MSIs) might continue to retain their former names to prevent breaking existing customer scripts. Related product documentation and other resources (such as videos and blog posts) that are linked from this product’s documentation might still contain former names. Your patience during this transition is appreciated.

How to deliver mobile productivity apps to users

You can deliver mobile productivity apps in two ways:

Through public app stores: Users download apps from the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android. Windows currently isn’t supported for public-app-store distribution.

Through the Citrix Workspace app. Users enroll their devices in Secure Hub to gain access to Citrix Workspace. From Citrix Workspace, users can add mobile productivity apps, and third-party apps that you secure with the MDX Toolkit or MDX Service. You control the configuration and operation of mobile productivity apps through admin features, such as MDX policies and other Endpoint Management settings. For related links, see Citrix Endpoint Management.
