Changing the Status of Video Source

Jan 23, 2015

You can change the status of a video source if you decide to add it to the list of video sources but not enable it until later, or to temporarily disable the video server instead of deleting it, or to exclude certain videos from caching. Alternatively, you can delete the video source from the list.

The following actions are available for changing the status of a video source:
  • Enable—Cache the videos from the video source.
  • Disable—Do not cache the videos from the video source.
  • Exclude—Exclude videos from a particular IP addresses or subnet from caching. By default, all the web traffic (port 80) is routed to the video caching engine. To reduce the load on the cache engine, you can specify the IP addresses or subnets that you want to exclude from the video caching. When you select this option, the appliance bypasses the request from proxy as well as cache.
To change the status of a video source
  1. Navigate to Configuration > Optimization Rules > Video Caching page.
  2. On the Video Sources tab, select the video source that you want to disable.
  3. Click Modify.
  4. From the Cache Status list, select Enable, Disable, or Exclude.
  5. Click Save.
Note: You can also exclude a video source when adding it to the appliance.
