VVR configurations with 4K sector-sized disks

InfoScale now supports VVR replication configurations in storage environments that contain 4K sector-sized disks. This change further supports the use of Ultra disks in Microsoft Azure cloud environments.

This support is limited to configurations that use disk groups with version 310 or later and where DCM logging is configured in DCO and not on DCM plexes.

VVR replication configurations support the use of disks with different sector sizes, where

  • The replication source or the primary site has 512-byte sector-sized disks and the replication target or the secondary site has 4K sector-sized disks, or vice-versa.
  • Volumes use the Veritas File System (VxFS).
  • Volumes on the 512-byte sector-sized disks are created with the -Q option of the vxassist command.
