SANE redirection
Starting with version 2508, Citrix Workspace app for Linux supports scanner redirection. You can connect a scanning device to the local endpoint and redirect it to a virtual session. This feature lets you access scanned files within the Citrix Workspace app session and upload documents to other apps that are accessible through Citrix Workspace app.

Requirements
- Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 2503 or later
Default behavior
This feature is enabled by default.
Limitations
- If a session is using the scanner and a scan is in progress, attempting to use the scanner from another app in the same session or from a second session causes the first session scan operation to fail abruptly.
- Some third-party scanners can fail to scan in color and grayscale modes. This issue occurs when Citrix Workspace app and the scanner drivers use different versions of the JPEG library.
Configure scanner redirection
To disable this feature:
- Navigate to
/opt/Citrix/ICAClient/config/module.ini. - Set
VDSCAN=Off.
