About Citrix Workspace app 2607 LTSR for Windows
This documentation describes the features and configuration of Citrix Workspace app 2607 LTSR for Windows. This version is the latest Long Term Service Release (LTSR) of Citrix Workspace app for Windows and is relevant only for LTSR customers. The documentation for the Current Release (CR) of Citrix Workspace app for Windows is available at Citrix Workspace app for Windows. Note:
If you have enabled auto-update on your Citrix Workspace app and have opted for the LTSR program, Citrix Workspace app for Windows automatically updates to Citrix Workspace app 2607 LTSR for Windows.
Citrix Workspace app version 2607 LTSR is the final LTSR release to include official support for Microsoft 32-bit (x86) installations. Subsequent LTSR releases will be 64-bit only.
If .NET 10.0.x or later is not installed on the system, Citrix Workspace app installs .NET 10 during installation. Higher versions of .NET can coexist on the system, but the version installed by Citrix Workspace app must not be uninstalled, as it is required for Citrix Workspace app to function.
32-bit, ARM64, and 64-bit
Citrix Workspace app for Windows 2607 LTSR is available in 32-bit, 64-bit and native ARM64 versions. It is the last LTSR release to include the 32-bit version. Cumulative Updates will be provided for all three versions of 2607 LTSR for the duration of its maintenance period. Citrix Workspace app for Windows 2707 LTSR will be 64-bit and ARM64 only. When 2707 LTSR becomes available, Cumulative Updates for 2607 LTSR will end. Administrators are encouraged to plan their transition to the 64-bit or ARM64 version ahead of the 2707 LTSR release. New Add-ons and Packaging
Third-party virtual channel compatibility check during 32-bit to 64-bit upgrade
When upgrading from 32-bit to 64-bit Citrix Workspace app, the installer checks for third-party virtual channel add-ons that are incompatible with the 64-bit build. The behavior of this check differs depending on whether the upgrade is performed manually, silently, or through auto-update.
Note:
Citrix ecosystem plugins (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex) are excluded from the compatibility check in all scenarios.
In rare cases, the 32-bit add-ons detected warning can be triggered incorrectly due to invalid virtual channel registration data. If this warning appears unexpectedly, review
C:\Program Files\Citrix\Logs\IncompatibleThirdPartyPlugins.jsonon the local device to identify the entries that triggered the compatibility check. If the report does not identify an incompatible third-party virtual channel, you can proceed with the upgrade. If you are unsure whether the reported entries are required in your environment, contact your system administrator before continuing.
Manual (interactive) upgrade
During a manual upgrade, if incompatible third-party virtual channel add-ons are detected, users see the following warning dialog:
32-bit add-ons detected
- Installing 64-bit Citrix Workspace app will break compatibility with the 32-bit third-party add-ons on this device. A list of affected add-ons has been saved to: C:\Program Files\Citrix\Logs\IncompatibleThirdPartyPlugins.json
- If you’re not sure how to proceed, contact your IT helpdesk or system administrator.
- I understand that continuing will break my 32-bit third-party add-ons.
Users must check the acknowledgment box before selecting Continue, or select Cancel to abort the upgrade.
Silent upgrade
In silent installations, the compatibility check can cause the upgrade to pause or fail. Use the /SkipThirdPartyVCCheck command-line parameter to suppress the check and allow the upgrade to proceed without prompting.

Note:
Administrators should verify that all installed third-party virtual channel add-ons have 64-bit compatible versions available before using this parameter.
Auto-update
A Global App Configuration Service (GACS) setting controls whether the compatibility check is performed during auto-update.
- Setting name: 32-bit to 64-bit virtual channel compatibility check
- Default: Enabled
Enabled
The installer scans the registry for third-party virtual channels before proceeding with the auto-update:
- If no third-party virtual channels are detected, the auto-update proceeds normally.
- If third-party virtual channels are detected:
- A report file is saved automatically to
C:\Program Files\Citrix\Logs\IncompatibleThirdPartyPlugins.json, listing the name, description, and version of each detected virtual channel. - The user sees an informational dialog indicating that the auto-update has been blocked, the path to the saved report file, and a directive to contact their IT helpdesk or system administrator.
- The auto-update does not proceed and no changes are made to the system. The user cannot override this block.
- On the next auto-update cycle, the check is repeated. The update remains blocked until either the incompatible 32-bit virtual channels are removed or replaced with 64-bit compatible versions, or the administrator changes this setting to Disabled.
- A report file is saved automatically to
Disabled
The compatibility check is skipped entirely and the auto-update proceeds without checking for third-party virtual channels.
Note:
Set this to Disabled only after confirming that all third-party virtual channel add-ons in the environment have 64-bit compatible versions available.
.NET 10 Framework
Citrix Workspace app 2607 LTSR moves to the .NET 10 framework, replacing the previous .NET 8 runtime dependency used in Citrix Workspace app 2507 LTSR. The .NET 10 framework provides improved performance, enhanced security capabilities, and long-term support from Microsoft.
Automated Endpoint Analysis client installation
The Endpoint Analysis client for Windows now automatically installs with Citrix Workspace app, providing significantly easier deployment than previous GACS-only automatic installation options. This auto-installation greatly aids deployment for customers using BYOD and unmanaged devices, streamlining processes for administrators and boosting overall efficiency.
Modular Browser Content Redirection
The Browser Content Redirection (BCR) component is now managed as a modular component, separate from the main Citrix Workspace app installer. This modular and evergreen model allows the Browser Content Redirection component to be updated independently and uninstalled independently. The Modular BCR component is installed by default.

Simplified distribution of uberAgent® on endpoints through Citrix Workspace app
uberAgent delivers advanced User Experience and Endpoint Security related insights. uberAgent is now packaged with Citrix Workspace app. This integration supports simplified distribution of uberAgent, streamlining deployment and reducing administrative overhead.

Citrix Enterprise Browser (CEB) decoupled
Starting with Citrix Workspace app 2511, Citrix Enterprise Browser is no longer bundled in the Workspace app installation package.

Compatible components
The following components are compatible with LTSR environments. They are not eligible for the LTSR benefits (extended lifecycle and fix-only cumulative updates).
