Linux Virtual Delivery Agent

Cumulative Update 2 (CU2)

Release date: August 18, 2026

What’s new

New .NET version required

Starting with this release, you must install .NET Runtime 10 on some supported Linux distributions before you install the Linux VDA. If your Linux distribution contains the .NET version that you require, install it from the built-in feed. Otherwise, install .NET from the Microsoft package feed. See more details in the system requirements.

Support for RHEL & Rocky Linux 9.8, Debian 12.15, AlmaLinux 9.8 (Limited)

The Linux VDA now supports the following Linux distributions:

  • RHEL 9.8
  • Rocky Linux 9.8
  • Debian 12.15
  • AlmaLinux 9.8 (Limited)

For more information about supported Linux distributions, see System requirements.

Move socket files from $HOME and /tmp to OS runtime directory

Unix domain socket files previously created in $HOME or /tmp are now placed in /run/user/<uid>(systemd runtime directory), with automatic fallback to /var/xdl/user/<uid> or /var/xdl/user when unavailable. Sessions on read-only or NFS-mounted home directories no longer fail, and systemd automatically cleans up socket files when sessions end.
