An image definition file is a structured package list defining all software packages for the operating system and applications.

One of the basic ELIAS features is the built-in mechanism checking for conflicts and dependencies regarding other packages. Required packages are automatically identified and requested. They can easily be added with just one click. This prevents software incompatibilities in the image definition file.
