About eLux® 7
eLux® 7 is a hardware-independent operating system designed for cloud-computing environments. It can be run by mobile and stationary thin clients, common PCs, Laptops - any endpoints with x86 architecture. eLux is based on Linux and provides a write-protected file system which makes it secure against computer viruses and other malware.
eLux 7 comes with a new desktop that is specially tailored to hybrid work scenarios and a new partition layout that offers more space for installing apps on the end device.

This guide supports the system administrator in setup, maintenance and operation of devices and PCs running eLux 7, hereafter referred to as eLux devices. The documentation refers to the current version eLux 7.

- Installation, maintenance and operation of computer networks and peripherals
- Operating system skills of the server machines in use
Note:
eLux 7 devices can be centrally managed through the Scout Enterprise Management Suite version 15.x.
The management protocol for communication between Scout Server and eLux devices offers end-to-end encryption via TLS 1.2. TLS-encrypted communication is done via port 22125.
