Seamless applications process Windows startup applications similarly to desktop sessions starting with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops release 2212 and later.

With these changes the Shell Launcher, ShellAppRuntime.exe will launch all programs that are normally executed by the Explorer Shell in Desktop Sessions, such as programs listed in user’s Run key, for Seamless sessions as well.

Running "start ms-settings:startupapps" from a Published Command Prompt lets you see what are the startup programs configured for the launched session.

The Autoruns tool from Microsoft Sysinternals, can show more detailed information to aid in identifying all system startup programs: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns

These startup applications or background processes, like OneDrive and Microsoft Teams if installed on the VDA will therefore automatically start alongside the seamless application.

Most applications will be automatically detected and closed accordingly during session logoff, however other applications could still potentially block session logoff.
