What’s new in 2112

This release of Citrix Provisioning includes the enhancements described in the following sections. It includes several fixes for issues seen in past releases, and new issues that we’ve identified.

Important:

Use the most recent version of the Citrix License Server to receive the latest provisioning features.

When upgrading Citrix Provisioning to the newest version, the latest License Server version is required. If you do not upgrade to the latest version of the License Server, the product license enters the 30-day grace period.

Azure support

Citrix Provisioning now allows you to move your Citrix Provisioning workloads to Azure Cloud, using the same provisioning tools and policies as you use with on-premises hypervisors. You can use Azure SQL to provide the database. For more information, see Citrix Provisioning on Microsoft Azure.

New options for database connections

Citrix Provisioning now provides more options for authenticating connections to the database. Many of these options are available for use with Azure SQL.

Added Windows support

Windows 11 is only supported on ESX 7.0 Update 2 and newer.

Windows 10 21H2 is supported.

Support for new Linux streaming target devices

For Linux streaming, the following operating systems are now supported:

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP2

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP3

Google Cloud VMware Engine support

Citrix Provisioning now allows you to migrate VMware based on-premises Citrix workloads to Google Cloud VMware Engine. For more information, see VMware cloud and partner solutions.

Support for Nutanix on AWS

Citrix Provisioning now supports Nutanix clusters on AWS. Nutanix Clusters on AWS offers the same functionality as Nutanix on-premises cluster. For more information, see Citrix Provisioning in Nutanix on AWS.

Support for VMware cloud on AWS

Citix Provisioning now supports VMware cloud on AWS. VMware cloud on AWS enables you to migrate VMware based on-premises Citrix workloads to AWS Cloud and your core Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment to the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service.
