Display devices
In Scout Board, the devices are displayed in the form of a list in all views. You can sort, filter and search a device list by any field. If possible, limit the scope of the displayed devices already in the first step by selecting the view:
All devices
- In the Navigation Panel, choose Devices > All devices.
All devices of your Scout infrastructure are displayed as a list.
Devices of a specific OU
-
In the Navigation Panel, choose Devices > OU structure.
-
Expand higher level OUs until you can see the relevant OU. To do this, click
in front of an OU name. -
Click the OU.
All devices of the selected OU are displayed. The device list of an OU has two tabs: One for the devices themselves and next to it all schedules of this OU.
Dynamic Device Groups
-
In the Navigation Panel, choose Devices > Dynamic Device Groups.
-
Click one of the defined Dynamic Device Groups.
All devices matching the filter criteria of the Dynamic Device Group are displayed.
Device list functions
The same basic functions for a device list are available in all views.
In UniconOS Management Cloud, three certificate-related columns (Certificate expires at, Certificate status, eLux version) and the Revoke certificate actions are available only in OU structure, not in All devices. See Enrollment settings for how devices are enrolled and how certificates work.
- Sort by a field.
- Filter by one or more fields.
-
: Define which of all available fields will be displayed as columns and choose the sequence. - Open the Actions context-menu of a device.
- Show details of a device (or OU or Dynamic Device Group) on the right.
- Selection column: Select multiple devices to apply an action on them. (from Scout 15 2302)
Especially when many devices are displayed, sorting and filter function are important tools.
List settings, filters and sorting are saved in the browser’s local storage so that they are associated with a specific user and the browser used.
To re-use your settings beyond this and easily switch between settings , save them in individual views. For further information, see Individual device list views. (from Scout 15 2304)
Applied rules, Applied labels and Evaluated at
These three optional fields show which configuration rules and labels currently apply to each device. Add them with the list settings icon, the same way as any other field.
- Applied rules and Applied labels list every rule or label that currently applies to the device, in one cell. Click an entry to open that rule or label in a new tab. Hovering a rule shows the labels it assigns; hovering a label shows the rules that assign it.
- A struck-through entry is a deleted rule. A highlighted entry is a rule changed since the last evaluation. A grey entry is a deleted label. A dash means no rule or label applied.
- Evaluated at shows when Scout last evaluated the rules for the device. It is shown only while at least one rule applies to the device.
- Scout evaluates the rules, and updates all three fields, when the device requests its configuration from Scout.
- Applied rules and Applied labels can be filtered with contains or is equal to, and sorted; Evaluated at can be sorted but not filtered. A filter on these fields is refused when it would match rules or labels applying to more than 1,000 devices in total across your whole Scout infrastructure, not only the devices in the current list.
- These three fields are not included in the CSV export.
For the rule and label property list, see Dynamic device configuration.
