What’s new
What’s new in 2607-ltsr
Important note about upgrading to version 2607 LTSR:
To prevent session recording failures due to incomplete upgrades of Session Recording agents, follow these steps when upgrading to 2607 LTSR:
Upgrade each Session Recording server to version 2607 LTSR.
Enable remote access using .NET Remoting with the following command:
<Session Recording server installation path>\Bin\SsRecUtils.exe -EnableBrokerRemotingUpgrade each Session Recording agent to version 2607 LTSR.
After all Session Recording agents are upgraded, disable remote access using .NET Remoting with the following command:
<Session Recording server installation path>\Bin\SsRecUtils.exe -DisableBrokerRemotingNote on Upgrade Impact for the ICLFile Table
As part of the upgrade process, several indexes will be created on the ICLFile table. Depending on the volume of data, this operation may take up to 15 minutes to complete and will require approximately 60% additional storage relative to the current size of the table.
This change does not affect fresh installations.
This release includes the following new features…
Session event data export as JSON
When administrators export a recording using the Session Recording Export console, Session Recording now generates a sidecar JSON file alongside the exported MP4, containing all detected session events.
For more information, see Session Recording file export.
Daily insights in AI-powered insights for session recording
Session Recording now supports three analysis scopes when analyzing recordings: a single recording file, an entire rollover session, or all recordings of a user on a selected day. The new daily insight option enables administrators to review a full day’s activity in a single analysis.
For more information, see AI-powered insights for session recording.
Azure Managed Identity support for Azure SQL
Session Recording now supports Azure Managed Identity authentication for Azure SQL database connections.
For more information, see Install the Session Recording Administration components.
Site-level user activity reporting in the Session Recording web console
The Session Recording web console now includes a site-level user activity report, giving administrators a consolidated view of detected events across all recorded sessions. Events can be filtered by event type, session user, and client device for more targeted analysis.
For more information, see Site-level user activity reporting.
Web console policy configuration
Administrators can now configure session recording, event detection, and event response policies directly in the Session Recording web console, in addition to using the Session Recording Policy Console. The web console also introduces a new Idle periods event type that logs user idle time within recorded sessions.
For more information, see Policies (web console).
What’s new in earlier releases
For new features included in the releases that shipped after the 1912 Long Term Service Releases (LTSR) through the 2603 Releases, see What’s new history.
