Boot-to-VDI with eLux Loginmanager

Starting in eLux® 7.2609.0, a boot-to-VDI kiosk uses the eLux Loginmanager (the component that handles sign-in at device startup) as its single authentication entry point, instead of handing the user straight to Citrix Workspace™ app (CWA) at launch. The device boots to one eLux sign-in screen. After the user authenticates once, eLux launches the assigned Citrix desktop or app full-screen and locked — the local eLux desktop is never exposed before, during, or after the session. Boot-to-VDI is one of several scenarios delivered under Boot-to-X.

What the user sees

Action Result
Power on The eLux sign-in screen appears; no local desktop is shown.
Authenticate once (badge, smartcard, AD, or identity provider) Loading holds until the Citrix® desktop is visually ready, then it fills the screen and locks.
End the session (sign out, disconnect, or tap out) The device returns to the eLux sign-in screen; no state carries over to the next user.
Tap the same Imprivata badge again The session locks instead of closing — tapping the same badge again resumes it without re-authenticating.
Tap a different Imprivata badge The user switches: the previous session is released and the new user’s desktop launches.
The launch fails or the session is lost A recoverable error panel appears with Retry and Back — never a black or frozen screen.
