When to Use the Full Screen Encoder?

For graphically intensive applications, Build to Lossless should be considered before trying the Full Screen Encoder. Build to Lossless can be set by setting the Visual Quality policy to “Build to Lossless” and leaving the “Use Video Codec for Compression” policy at its default setting “Use when preferred.”

The Full Screen Encoder is only recommended if higher moving image quality is required as it supports the YUV444 color space (see “Allow Visually Lossless” policy). Video Editing is a good example of where this extra fidelity might be required, however, this will come at a considerably higher bandwidth cost.
