Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops

End user monitoring policy settings

The End User Monitoring section includes policy settings for measuring session traffic.

Endpoint location data collection

By default, this policy is disabled. When enabled, endpoint location data is collected, including the public IP address, country, city, and Internet Service Provider (ISP) of the endpoint device. Data collected is shown in Citrix Director or Monitor under the Session Performance tab for a selected user session.

Endpoint network latency measurement interval

By default, this policy is disabled. This setting specifies the frequency, in seconds, at which the endpoint measures the network latency. When enabled, data collected is shown in Citrix Director or Monitor under the Session Performance tab for a selected user session.

Endpoint statistics interval

Endpoint statistics like Network interface type, Signal strength, Link speed, Throughput outgoing, Throughput incoming etc. are available as endpoint telemetry in the session topology on the Director or Monitor UI. This telemetry helps with triaging end-user session issues. Endpoint statistics interval indicates the frequency, in seconds, at which endpoint telemetry is refreshed in the Session topology within Director or Monitor UI. By default, endpoint telemetry is enabled and refreshed every 60 seconds. Data collected is shown in Citrix Director or Monitor under the Session Performance tab for a selected user session.

ICA round trip calculation

This setting determines whether ICA round trip calculations are done for active connections.

By default, calculations for active connections are enabled.

By default, each ICA round trip measurement initiation is delayed. This delay is until some traffic occurs that indicates user interaction. This delay can be indefinite in length and is designed to prevent the ICA round trip measurement being the sole reason for ICA traffic.

ICA round trip calculation interval

This setting specifies the frequency, in seconds, at which ICA round trip calculations are performed.

By default, the ICA round trip is calculated every 15 seconds.

ICA round trip calculations for idle connections

This setting determines whether ICA round trip calculations are done for idle connections.

By default, calculations are not performed for idle connections.

By default, each ICA round trip measurement initiation is delayed. This delay is until some traffic occurs that indicates user interaction. This delay can be indefinite in length and is designed to prevent the ICA round trip measurement being the sole reason for ICA traffic.
