Profile Management

Known issues

The following known issues exist in this release:

  • Attempts to use the Outlook Search index roaming feature might fail with no permission to access the VHDX files. The issue occurs after upgrading Profile Management from version 1912 LTSR to version 2203 LTSR. [CVADHELP-20957]

  • When you configure customized path for Outlook OST files through a Group Policy or registry and the customized path contains user environment variables, Microsoft Outlook profiles might fail to load. [CVADHELP-23072]

  • You are prompted to restart your machine after installing a VDA. However, the Profile Management service might not start after you restart the machine. When this issue happens, you can see that the following message about Event 7000 appears in the system Event log: “The ctxProfile service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.” As a workaround, change the value of the following registry key to a greater number (for example, 300,000):
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\
    • Name: ServicesPipeTimeout
    • Type: REG_DWORD
    • Value: 300000 [UPM-1454]
  • Some sections of the Start menu might not populate. To work around this issue, run the gpupdate /force command from the command prompt. [UPM-1933]

  • Subfolders might be lost when you enable folder redirection for existing user profiles. [UPM‑10151]

This issue affects only existing Citrix Profile Management (CPM) user profiles. If Folder redirection (Microsoft or CPM) is newly enabled for a folder while Enable profile streaming for folders is also enabled, subfolders might not migrate to the new location.

For example, if a subfolder (FolderA) exists under Documents, and Documents is not yet redirected, enabling folder redirection normally migrates the Documents folder to the new redirected location during the next logon. However, with Enable Profile streaming for folders turned on, FolderA and its contents might not migrate and will be lost.

    Workaround:

    1. Disable the Enable Profile streaming for folders policy before enabling Folder redirection for existing user profiles.
    2. After the next user logon, confirm that the redirected folders have successfully migrated to the new location.
    3. Re-enable the Enable Profile streaming for folders policy.
