What’s new
What’s New in 2603
Important note about upgrading to version 2603:
To prevent session recording failures due to incomplete upgrades of Session Recording agents, follow these steps when upgrading to 2603:
Upgrade each Session Recording server to version 2603.
Enable remote access using .NET Remoting with the following command:
<Session Recording server installation path>\Bin\SsRecUtils.exe -EnableBrokerRemotingUpgrade each Session Recording agent to version 2603.
After all Session Recording agents are upgraded, disable remote access using .NET Remoting with the following command:
<Session Recording server installation path>\Bin\SsRecUtils.exe -DisableBrokerRemotingNote on Upgrade Impact for the ICLFile Table
As part of the upgrade process, several indexes will be created on the ICLFile table. Depending on the volume of data, this operation may take up to 15 minutes to complete and will require approximately 60% additional storage relative to the current size of the table.
This change does not affect fresh installations.

-
Insights dashboard for session activities

Detailed reports for security and productivity analysis

Customizable prompt templates for tailoring analysis to your business needs
-
Analyze roll-overed session files or daily report
For configuration details, see AI-powered insights for session recording.
Playback scaling support in the web player
The Session Recording web player now supports playback scaling. This feature ensures that you can clearly view all session recordings directly in the web player, regardless of resolution differences between the recording source and your playback device.
Key capabilities:
-
Fit to Window: Scales the recorded session to fit your current browser window. This provides a complete overview of the session, allowing reviewers to quickly understand the overall operational context. High-quality resolution is provided by default.
-
Original Size: Displays the recording at its native resolution. This mode is intended for detailed forensic analysis that requires the highest level of clarity and pixel-perfect detail.
For more information, see Open and play recordings.
Session recording now available in Citrix Virtual Desktop Assistant
Citrix Virtual Desktop Assistant now supports built-in manual Session Recording. Users can manually start and stop recording their active virtual desktop sessions from the assistant, with recordings saved as MP4 video clips locally or saved on the Session Recording server for troubleshooting and review.
For more information about manual session recording:
-
In Basic Deployment Mode: to start or stop recording using Citrix Virtual Desktop Assistant, see Citrix Virtual Desktop Assistant application.
-
In Standard Deployment Mode: see End-user triggered session recording.
