Kiosk lock screen

Kiosk lock screen locks a shared kiosk device — one with no user authentication — behind a single administrator-set password, instead of leaving an idle session open to anyone who walks up to it.

Note:

Configure this feature in Scout: the enable switch, the triggers that reach the lock screen, and how the password is stored. See Locking a kiosk device with a local password.

On the device

The device must already be running in kiosk mode (UC Self Service or UC Browser) with no user authentication. The feature doesn’t apply to a plain no-authentication desktop, Boot-to-VDI, or Boot-to-App.

When one of the configured triggers fires, the lock screen shows one instruction line and a single input field:

Instruction line “Please enter the password to unlock.”
Field Password only — no username or domain field. The password belongs to the device, not to a person.

Entering the correct password returns to the session that was already running — it doesn’t start a new one. Entering an incorrect password clears the field and shows “The password is incorrect.” The device stays locked, and you can try again immediately — there’s no lockout after repeated wrong attempts.

If the device has an Imprivata bootstrap URL configured, Imprivata’s own lock screen takes over instead, and this feature has no effect.
