Licensing

You must configure the Citrix License Server connection details to enable Workspace Environment Management™ (WEM) to validate your license entitlement. After you sign in, if no license server settings are detected, the system displays the following message:

Configure the license server

Provide the Citrix License Server connection details, including the license server FQDN, port, and License Activation Service (LAS) port.

Note:

License Activation Service (LAS) simplifies the licensing experience by eliminating the need to download, upload, or manage license activation codes and product-specific license files. For more information, see License Activation Service.

To configure the license server connection details:

  1. In the preceding message, click Configure.
  2. Enter the required license server details.
  3. Click Done to complete the license configuration.

  4. If the license server certificate is not trusted (for example, when using a self-signed certificate), manually accept the certificate.

View the license server information

To view or reconfigure the Citrix License Server connection details:

  1. Expand Global Configurations (the drop-down list at the top-right corner of the web console).

  2. Select Licensing.

  3. Review the current license server details. If needed, update the license server settings.

Troubleshoot LAS licensing issues

If you encounter LAS licensing issues, check the license server status in Citrix Cloud. If the status is not green, review activation details to help identify the cause.

  1. Sign in to Citrix Cloud with your account.

  2. Go to Licensing > Licensed Deployments > License Servers.

  3. Expand Workspace Environment Management to view the list of activations:

    • ID: Machine SID
    • License Server connectivity: Connected or Lost connection
    • Last successful connection: Time of the most recent successful connection

  4. Click … > View Details for an activation to review detailed information:

    • Product & Version: Product_Edition_Model and BurnInDate used when activating with LAS. BurnInDate is usually the product release date

    • WEM Deployment: Deployment ID

    • WEM Instance: Machine SID

    • HostID: Machine SID

    • LasUniqueEnvID: Unique ID of the instance for which LAS provides activation
