External Intelligence Settings device policy
The External Intelligence Settings device policy lets you manage external AI integrations (for example, ChatGPT) using Apple’s Declarative Device Management. This policy replaces the deprecated External Intelligence restriction keys. This policy only supports supervised devices.
To add or configure this policy, go to Configure > Device Policies. For more information, see Device policies.
Prerequisites
- CEM version is equal to or greater than 26.8.0.
- Available for iOS 26.4 or later and iPadOS 26.4 or later, only support supervised devices.
iOS settings

-
External Intelligence
-
Enable External Intelligence Integrations: If Off, disables external intelligence integrations. The default is On.
-
Allow Sign-In: If Off, disables sign-in for external intelligence integrations. The default is On.
-
Allowed Workspace IDs: An array of strings, but currently restricted to a single element. If present, Apple Intelligence allows use of only the given external integration workspace ID, and requires a sign-in to make requests. The user is required to sign in to integrations that support signing in. Multiple values combine using an intersect operation.
- Workspace ID: To add an external intelligence workspace ID, click Add, type a Workspace ID, and click Save. Repeat that process for each workspace ID you want to add.
