Fixed issues

Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 2308 includes the following fixed issues:

General

  • After you upgrade to Citrix Studio version 2303 from an earlier version, uninstalling it might not work as expected. The Citrix Studio components like registries and files remain in the system and might be visible in the Add Programs or Remove Programs list. [XAXDINST-1054]

  • If the Session Recording agent is not installed on the VDA and you run Get-BrokerSessionRecordingStatus, Start-BrokerSessionRecording, and Stop-BrokerSessionRecording PowerShell commands, then the VDA deregisters and registers again with the Delivery Controller within a few seconds. This action has no impact on the existing sessions. If the Session Recording agent is installed on the VDA, the PowerShell commands work without issue. [BRK-14727]

Citrix Director

  • In Citrix Director, machine usage in Director console > Trends > Machine Usage > Multi-session OS Machines appears as 0 (Zero) in the In Use column for all Delivery Groups. [CVADHELP-22498]
  • The Console link on Citrix Director > Machine Details does not launch the machine console in the Microsoft Edge 44 and Firefox 68 ESR browsers. [DIR-8160]

Citrix Policy

  • Attempts to apply Citrix user policies on different domains might fail when you upgrade a VDA to version LTSR CU7. [CVADHELP-22992]

Delivery Controller

  • When the reserved memory is lesser than the configured memory, attempts to power on a virtual machine might fail with this error message:

    Invalid memory setting: Memory reservation (sched.mem.min) should be equal to memsize (94208). The virtual machine failed to start. Failed to turn on the MemSched module. Error parsing scheduler-specific configuration parameters.

  • The vSAN 8 support is added to Machine Creation Services. [CVADHELP-23415]

Graphics

  • In the WebEx Citrix session, when you select Microsoft Media Foundation > Video capture, HDX Webcam generates a green image instead of the real video from the redirected WebCam. [CVADHELP-22494]

Microsoft Teams Optimization

  • Citrix HDX HTML5 Video Redirection Service (WebSocketService.exe) might exit unexpectedly while using Microsoft Teams. [CVADHELP-22561]

VDA for single-session OS

Installing, Uninstalling, Upgrading

  • When you upgrade Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 2203 LTSR from CU1 to CU2, the values EnableVistaMousePointers, EnforceUserPolicyEvaluationSuccess, Flag, and CitrixDoD that were manually created under the following registry keys might disappear:

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\PortICA

      Name: EnableVistaMousePointers

      Type: DWORD

      Value: 1

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Ica\GroupPolicy

      Name: EnforceUserPolicyEvaluationSuccess

      Type: DWORD

      Data: 0

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\CtxHook\AppInit_DLLs\Smart Card Hook

      Name: Flag

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Graphics\AdapterMerits

      Name: CitrixDoD

    [CVADHELP-22569]

  • After you upgrade a VDA to 1912 LTSR CUx or 2203 LTSR CUx, the value of ApplicationLaunchWaitTimeoutMS under the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix\wfshell\TWI might not be restored. [CVADHELP-22758]

Keyboard

  • EDT MTU Discovery might calculate an incorrect MTU when paths between the VDA and the client are asymmetrical. As a result, the session launch is successful. However, the keyboard and the mouse are unresponsive. [CVADHELP-16654]

  • When you use a Russian keyboard layout on a macOS device connected to a VDA running Windows, the hotkeys might not work. [CVADHELP-17788]

  • When you switch between keyboard layouts such as United Kingdom and United States, intermittent language issues might occur with the keyboard in the session. [CVADHELP-23134]

  • With the Enlightened Data Transport (EDT) protocol enabled, Citrix sessions might freeze when you update the VDA from version 1912 LTSR CU6 to version 1912 LTSR CU7. [CVADHELP-23370]

Printing

  • When attempting to print a PDF file from a session launched through Citrix Workspace app for HTML5, the file might not print correctly. [CVADHELP-16809]

  • When you restart a VDA with the Universal Print Server policies enabled, load balancing for Universal Print Servers might fail to start. [CVADHELP-21498]

Session/Connection

  • The sessions might remain stuck in the Logging Off state on the Cloud Studio or Monitor until the system is booted. The issue occurs when the RemotePC VDAs are shut down from within the RemotePC. [CVADHELP-20988]
  • Internal websites of certain third-party applications with VDA installed might not allow access without a prompt. [CVADHELP-22081]

  • With shellbridge enabled, all the startup programs are launched in an HDX published application session. Signing out of an application might prevent a graceful logoff. If the issue persists, set the value as 0 in the following registry:

  • With the BrowserCodeIntegritySettingpolicy enabled in the Microsoft Edge browser, attempts to download files into a CDM directory might fail. [CVADHELP-22210]

  • The pooled machines that are ON might be powered off automatically and become unregistered. [CVADHELP-22374]

  • In a WebEx meeting running in a Citrix session with Microsoft Media Foundation > Video capture selected, the HDX Webcam might produce a green image instead of the real video from the redirected Webcam. [CVADHELP-22494]

  • When you copy content from session 1 using clipboard mapping and attempt to paste it into session 2, the content might not appear in the clipboard of session 2. The issue occurs when session 2 is launched after the content is copied from session 1. [CVADHELP-22746]

  • Client drive mapping (CDM) might not work on freshly installed VDA version 2203 LTSR CU2 running Microsoft Windows Server when Citrix Print Manager Service is disabled. [CVADHELP-22946]

  • When the RemotePC VDAs are shutdown with the Wake-On LAN feature enabled instead of logging off, the sessions remain stuck in the Logging Off state and the VDA remains registered on the Cloud Studio/Monitor. [CVADHELP-20988]

  • Citrix Audio Redirection might fail to work with VDA version 2203 LTSR CU3 when more than eight audio devices are connected to a user device. [CVADHELP-23238]

  • If the Session Recording agent is not installed on the VDA and you run Get-BrokerSessionRecordingStatus, Start-BrokerSessionRecording, and Stop-BrokerSessionRecording PowerShell commands, then the VDA deregisters and registers again with the Delivery Controller within a few seconds. This action has no impact on the existing sessions. If the Session Recording agent is installed on the VDA, the PowerShell commands work without issue. [CVADHELP-23491]

Smart Cards

  • Accessing smart cards using the Microsoft Edge browser with SFRhook enabled, might cause the msedge.exe process to exit unexpectedly. [CVADHELP-17956]

System Exceptions

  • The graphics status indicator process, GfxStatusIndicator.exe might exit repeatedly. [CVADHELP-23141]

  • The HTML5 Video Redirection Service (CtxHdxWebSocketService) might exit unexpectedly. [CVADHELP-22012]

  • The Citrix PDF Universal Printer driver might exit unexpectedly because of the faulting acfpdfuamd64.dll module. [CVADHELP-22085]

  • The wfica32.exe process might exit unexpectedly. [CVADHELP-22234]

  • The graphics status indicator process, GfxStatusIndicator.exe might exit repeatedly. [CVADHELP-23142]

User Experience

  • Multiple attempts to copy content from the Microsoft Access application might fail as the paste button in the application gets disabled. [CVADHELP-21609]

  • Copying content using the Copy to text and image option and copying formatted might fail. [CVADHELP-21905]

  • The wfshell.exe process might become unresponsive while copying and pasting large data in Microsoft Excel. [CVADHELP-22425]

VDA for multi-session OS

Keyboard

  • EDT MTU Discovery might calculate an incorrect MTU when paths between the VDA and the client are asymmetrical. As a result, the session launch is successful. However, the keyboard and the mouse are unresponsive. [CVADHELP-16654]

  • When Japanese Input Method Editor (IME) is set to the Best Experience mode, input strings might be duplicated. [CVADHELP-18259]

Printing

  • When attempting to print a PDF file from a session launched through Citrix Workspace app for HTML5, the file might not print correctly. [CVADHELP-16809]

  • When you restart a VDA with the Universal Print Server policies enabled, load balancing for Universal Print Servers might fail to start. [CVADHELP-21498]

Session/Connection

  • The sessions might remain stuck in the Logging Off state on the Cloud Studio or Monitor until the system is booted. The issue occurs when the RemotePC VDAs are shut down from within the RemotePC. [CVADHELP-20988]

  • Attempts to open PDF files using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC in Citrix Servers might fail with this error message:

  • Session Recording might continue to record even after you log off from the session or if the session is disconnected. [CVADHELP-22097]

  • With the BrowserCodeIntegritySettingpolicy enabled in the Microsoft Edge browser, attempts to download files into a CDM directory might fail. [CVADHELP-22210]

  • The pooled machines that are ON might be powered off automatically and become unregistered. [[CVADHELP-22374]

  • When you switch between endpoints without disconnecting the session, multiple reboot notifications might appear if scheduled reboot notifications are enabled. [CVADHELP-22226]

  • In a WebEx meeting running in a Citrix session with Microsoft Media Foundation > Video capture selected, the HDX Webcam might produce a green image instead of the real video from the redirected Webcam. [CVADHELP-22494]

  • After you upgrade a VDA from 1912 LTSR CU5 to CU6 or CU7, the LogoffCheckerStartupDelayInSeconds and SeamlessFlags values under the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix\wfshell\TWI might not be restored. [CVADHELP-22783]

  • When you reconnect to a session after changing the client’s DPI value, the new value might not be applied to the session. [CVADHELP-23007]

  • Attempts to reconnect to a session using smart card authentication might fail and the session might remain stuck on the Welcome. The issue occurs with VDA running on Windows 10 or 11 version 21H2, which is configured with the Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH). [CVADHELP-23139]

  • When the Shellbridge feature is enabled on the VDA, seamless application sessions from HTML5 and Android might show unexpected UI windows that can block user input. [CVADHELP-22984]

  • With the Enlightened Data Transport (EDT) protocol enabled, Citrix sessions might freeze when you update the VDA from version 1912 LTSR CU6 to version 1912 LTSR CU7. [CVADHELP-23370]

Smart Cards

  • Accessing smart cards using the Microsoft Edge browser with SFRhook enabled, might cause the msedge.exe process to exit unexpectedly. [CVADHELP-17956]

System Exceptions

  • Microsoft might incorrectly send the WTS_REMOTE_CONNECT message before sending the connection notification ConnectNotify. As a result, one or more of the following functional issues might occur:

    • Sessions might exit unexpectedly.
    • Session reconnections might fail.
    • RPM Package Manager might crash.

  • When the Auto client reconnect option is selected, the session might close unexpectedly. [CVADHELP-19268]

  • The Terminal Service might exit intermittently on the VDA for multi-session OS. The Event ID 7011 is logged in the System event log with the following message:

    A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the TermService service.

  • The Terminal Services process might exit unexpectedly because of the faulting module, RPM.dll. [CVADHELP-21108]

  • The HTML5 Video Redirection Service (CtxHdxWebSocketService) might exit unexpectedly. [CVADHELP-22012]

  • The Citrix PDF Universal Printer driver might exit unexpectedly because of the faulting acfpdfuamd64.dll module. [CVADHELP-22085]

  • The wfica32.exe process might exit unexpectedly. [CVADHELP-22234]

  • When you upgrade a VDA from 1912 LTSR CU5 to CU6, a fatal exception occurs on Wdica.sys, and a blue screen with a bug check code, 0x000000CE is displayed. [CVADHELP-22365]

User Experience

  • Multiple attempts to copy content from the Microsoft Access application might fail as the paste button in the application gets disabled. [CVADHELP-21609]

  • Copying content using the Copy to text and image option and copying formatted might fail. [CVADHELP-21905]

  • The wfshell.exe process might become unresponsive while copying and pasting large data in Microsoft Excel. [CVADHELP-22425]

User Interface

  • In a user session launched through the Citrix Workspace app, you might not be able to hide the language bar even after setting the No, hide the language bar option. [CVADHELP-18239]

  • Status messages might not appear when launching published resources. [CVADHELP-19070]

Virtual Desktop Components

  • Attempts to upgrade the database schema might fail while you upgrade a Delivery Controller from version LTSR 2203 CU1 to version 2206 or later. [CVADHELP-22235]
