Citrix Provisioning

Citrix Provisioning 2203 CU1 documentation provides specific information about the updates in this release.

Citrix Studio

  • Operations involving machine catalogs in Citrix Studio, such as accessing, creating, removing, or enumerating catalogs might be slow. This issue occurs if a Nutanix hypervisor is used to host the connection. [CVADHELP-19652]

Delivery Controller

  • Upgrading Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops to version 1912 LTSR might not update the Citrix.AzureRmPlugin.dll.config configuration file and the connection to Microsoft Azure Resource Manager might fail. [CVADHELP-16839]

  • While updating a Machine Creation Services catalog, if you select the virtual machine and then the relevant snapshot, this error message might appear:

An unexpected error occurred. Contact Citrix Technical Support.

    [CVADHELP-17794]

  • Attempts to power on a machine might fail after the connection to System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) is restored. [CVADHELP-18400]

  • When you use a static IP address to create a VDA version 2203 LTSR machine from a master image, Machine Creation Services (MCS) might not enable DHCP during image preparation. [CVADHELP-19892]

Keyboard

  • The keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Break might not work in sessions opened using Citrix Workspace app for Linux. [CVADHELP-19043]

Session/Connection

  • When you plug in or unplug a monitor, the seamless window might be positioned incorrectly. [CVADHELP-19168]

  • When you run Connection Quality Indicator on VDA version 2112, incorrect Round Trip Time (RTT) and latency values might be reported.

This fix allows you to use the legacy NetScaler L7 latency measurement when the HDX Adaptive Scaling feature is disabled. The NetScaler L7 latency and VDA HDX Adaptive Scaling features can’t be enabled simultaneously.

For the functionality in the fix to take effect, you must disable the HDX Adaptive Scaling feature in the VDA registry as follows:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\Wds\icawd

    Name: AdaptiveScalingEnabled

    Type: DWORD

    Value: 0

    [CVADHELP-19781]

  • Resizing a Desktop Viewer window with the Graphics status indicator policy enabled might fail and a gray screen might appear momentarily. The gray screen might sometimes persist until you reboot the VDA. [CVADHELP-19803]

  • Sharing certain published apps using the screen-sharing feature in Microsoft Teams might fail. [CVADHELP-20002]

  • Citrix HDX HTML5 Video Redirection Service (WebSocketService.exe) might cause a session leak while using Citrix HDX optimized Microsoft Teams. [CVADHELP-20058]

  • VDA upgrades might fail when Citrix WEM Agent is installed on a VDA machine without configuration information. [CVADHELP-20201]

  • Single-session VDA upgrades to 2203 Cumulative Update 1 can fail and the following error message appears:

IcaConfigConsole.exe failed with error code -4

As a workaround, create the following registry key on the target machine before the upgrade:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix\wfshell\TWI

For more information, see Knowledge Center article CTX463588.

Note: This issue was addressed in Cumulative Update 1100 - the respin of Cumulative Update 1.

System Exceptions

  • The wfshell.exe process might exit unexpectedly, causing new application launches from published applications to fail. [CVADHELP-17310]

  • An error in CTXCDF might cause Windows Management Instrumentation Provider Service (WMIPRVSE.exe) to stop and generate Event ID 5612 in the event log. [CVADHELP-17425]

  • The WebSocketService.exe process might exit unexpectedly causing Microsoft Teams calls to fail with the following error message:

Still connecting to remote devices. Calling isn’t available yet.

    [CVADHELP-17758]

Session/Connection

  • The following HDX published application issues are addressed:

    • Microsoft Office password prompt might not appear.
    • Devices such as Printers & Scanners might not appear in the Settings menu.
    • Newly created folders might not show up in the File Explorer application.
    • Open Settings in the File Explorer menu does not work.
    • In applications such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel, when you rename, create, or delete a folder using the Save or Open option, the window does not refresh automatically. However, you can refresh the window manually.
    • During the launch of a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app, the app appears on the screen 8-13 seconds after the session completion progress bar of Citrix Workspace app disappears. As a result, users might attempt to do multiple launches.
    • In an HDX seamless session on Windows 11 version 22H2, the print window might be displayed partially if a Print dialog box is open.
    • The search bar of File Explorer does not work.

  • The TermService permission on the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Ica\Session might not be restored during the installation of a VDA on Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 1912 CU resulting in sessions failures. [CVADHELP-19546]
