What’s new
This release of Citrix Provisioning includes the enhancements described in the following sections. It includes several fixes for issues seen in past releases, and new issues that we’ve identified.
Support for Windows Server 2016 in Citrix Provisioning on Azure
Citrix Provisioning now supports Windows Server 2016 on Azure.
Support for Windows 11 in Citrix Provisioning on Azure
Citrix Provisioning now supports Windows 11 on Azure Standard security type. Security type refers to the different security features available for a virtual machine. You can select the security type when you create a VM on Azure console.
Configuration wizard changes for database credentials
The Configuration wizard now always prompts for database administrator credentials, and uses those credentials to configure the provisioning database. You can now select Active Directory Integrated authentication when providing database administrator credentials, which accesses the provisioning database as the current logged in user.
Azure Marketplace
Citrix Provisioning does not support Azure Marketplace images with plan information. For more information, see Citrix Provisioning on Microsoft Azure.
Support for both Customer Managed and Citrix Cloud Delivery Controllers natively from the same Citrix Provisioning Console
Citrix Provisioning now supports working with both customer managed and Citrix Cloud Delivery Controllers natively from the same Citrix Provisioning Console. It no longer uses the five PowerShell snap-ins for communicating with on-premises Delivery Controller. There is also no need to manually uninstall or reinstall PowerShell modules to switch between on-premises and cloud Delivery Controllers.
While running the Citrix Virtual Desktops Setup and Citrix Provisioning Devices Export Wizard, you can now select either Citrix Cloud or Customer-Managed Control Plane Delivery Controller.
Support for Device Guard on ESX 6.7 or newer, and ESX 7.0 update 3
Citrix Provisioning now supports the following enabled with Device Guard using ESX 6.7 and above, and ESX 7.0 update 3:
- Targets running on Windows 10, Windows 2016, or Windows 2019.
- Citrix Provisioning server on Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, or Windows Server 2022.
For more information, see Deployments using Device Guard.
Support for Hybrid Rights License
Citrix Provisioning now allows use of Hybrid Rights License with Citrix licensing server. For more information, see the following:
