Known issues
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops™ 7 2503 includes the following known issues:
Notes
-
If a known issue has a workaround, it is provided after the description of the issue.
-
The following warning applies to any workaround that suggests changing a registry entry:Warning:Editing the registry incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix® cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of the Registry Editor can be solved. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.
General
-
A new option A restart before installation is recommended is added to the meta installer when uninstalling the VDA agent. However, the checkbox does not function correctly in 2503 EAR release, and you are advised not to use it.
-
Microsoft confirms there is an issue retaining print settings between print jobs when using the Modern Print Dialog which they are working to address. Their current projection is the first half of 2025. The Modern Print Dialog is enabled by default in newer OS versions such as Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025. The OS can be configured to use the legacy print dialog by taking the following action:
-
The Windows Security dialog box associated with FIDO2 will not be displayed in front of the ICA® session window if you are running the application with administrator privileges. It is by the operating system design that the Windows Security dialog box will be hidden behind the ICA session window if it is running as an elevated process.
-
Windows 10 or Windows 11 Multi-session OS does not support Windows System Restore. Hence, the option to create a restore point is unavailable in the UI. The command line options /EnableRestore or /EnableRestoreCleanup are ignored and the Disabling System Restore as not currently supported on Windows 10/11 Multi Session OS’s” message is logged.
-
There is a 5-minute delay between the update to any policy setting and the generation of the blob in the site service. As a result, policies might take some time to update and reflect in the sessions.
-
When using Enhanced domain pass-through for single sign-on (SSO), SSO into applications inside the session works as expected when a user first connects. However, if the user disconnects and later reconnects to the same session, SSO within the session may stop working. This is due to a regression introduced with Windows updates released in March and April 2025. Customers experiencing this issue are advised to open a support case with Microsoft and reference tracking ID 2410230030007977.
Secure Private Access with Web Studio
Note:
All the above issues occur only when you access the Secure Private Access from Web Studio. They are not applicable if you access the standalone Secure Private Access.
Director
-
When you initiate an OData V4 or V3 request for
MonthlyCostSummariesthrough the Director OData API, you might encounter a 500 internal error. As a workaround, use the OData query from the Trends > Custom Reports > OData query section in the Director UI.
Machine Creation Services™
-
When creating an MCS machine catalog in a Red Hat OpenShift virtualization environment, you can’t use a master image and a machine profile that have different operating system types. This is due to how Red Hat OpenShift manages each OS type. Therefore, using a Windows VM as the master image with a non-Windows (example, Linux) VM as the machine profile, or the other way around, is not supported.
-
In a Red Hat OpenShift environment, when the master image is joined to a domain, it might lose domain trust after being used for catalog creation. This issue affects Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 2503 due to a limitation in the OpenShift environment. The workaround is not to join domain in master images. Citrix is working with Red Hat to enhance network isolation capabilities.
-
In a VMware environment hosted on AWS, the MCS machine catalog creation fails if the master image is vTPM enabled. This issue affects all Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops versions and is due to a problem in the VMware environment. For assistance, contact VMware support.
