Cumulative Update 2 (CU2)
Release date: February 06, 2025
What’s new
Support to create Citrix Provisioning catalog in VMware environment using Web Studio
You can now create a Citrix Provisioning catalog in VMware environment using Web Studio. Previously, administrators had to toggle between different consoles for provisioning and management of catalogs. This feature reduces the need to toggle between consoles and allows you to handle provisioning and power management directly within Web Studio. For more information see, Create a Citrix Provisioning catalog in VMware environment using Studio.
Change the subnet mapping for machine catalog
Previously, to change the subnet mapping of a machine catalog, you had to delete the catalog and create a catalog with the new subnet mapping. With this feature, you can now achieve the same functionality by changing the subnet mapping on the catalog. This ensures that the new virtual machines created under this catalog will be on the new subnet mapping. This enhancement reduces the overhead of deleting the catalog and all the activities associated with it. For more information, see Edit a catalog.
Pendo integration
Starting with version 2402 LTSR CU2, Web Studio integrates Pendo, which is enabled by default. Pendo collects your usage data following the Citrix Privacy Policy. If you prefer not to share your usage data, you can disable Pendo using the Studio configuration tool. For more information, see Enable or disable Pendo.
Independent release of Director for LTSR deployments
The independent release of Director for LTSR deployments now provides an option to access the latest Director features for enhanced troubleshooting and monitoring in Citrix environments to compatible LTSR environments. This feature allows customers to use the latest Director version on your 2402 LTSR deployments. Also, provides access to features released after the LTSR announcement without impacting the application delivery infrastructure.
The standalone installer includes the latest .msi for Monitor service, Director service, and the Monitor Snap-in. Using these new .msi files, you can upgrade your 2402 LTSR CU1 with current release features.
For information on the Director features that are part of current releases after the 2402 LTSR release, see the following:
To learn more about specific features on Director with the minimum version of VDA, see Director Version Matrix.
Key considerations
- Targeted upgrades: Access the latest features on LTSR deployments by upgrading only the Director component.
- LTSR support: The newly upgraded Director and Monitoring Service component is not covered by LTSR support, but the rest of your LTSR infrastructure maintains its existing support.
- Rollback option: You have the flexibility to roll back to the previous Director version if needed.
For more information, see Independent release of Director for LTSR deployments.
Image management is now Generally Available
Image management functionality is generally available from Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 2402 LTSR CU2 for Azure and VMware virtualization environments. For more information, see Image Management.
StoreFront
Modern experience - General availability
The new modern experience is now generally available for on-premises stores. This UI, which was previously available only for cloud stores, ensures a consistent look and feel across cloud and on-prem stores. The new user interface is designed to enhance and simplify the end-user experience to access Citrix apps and desktops. It reduces visual complexity, provides easy access to essential features, and refines the StoreFront app experience. It supports new features, such as Activity Manager that facilitate effective management of your virtual apps and desktop resources. For more information, see What’s new in StoreFront 2402 LTSR CU2.

New deployments
How do I deploy CU2 from scratch?
You can set up a brand-new Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment based on CU2 - using the CU2 metainstaller. Before you do that, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the product:
Peruse the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 2402 LTSR (initial release) section and pay close attention to the Technical Overview, Install and Configure, and Security sections before you start planning your deployment. Ensure your setup meets the system requirements for all components.
Existing deployments
What do I update?
CU2 provides updates to 15 baseline components of the 2402 LTSR. Remember: Citrix recommends that you update all LTSR components of your deployment to CU2. For example: If Citrix Provisioning is part of your LTSR deployment, update the Citrix Provisioning components to CU2. If Citrix Provisioning isn’t part of your deployment, you do not need to install or update it.
