What’s new

  • Support new strong certificate mappings for Certificate-based authentication

A new mapping method is introduced to allow greater flexibility in issuing certificates that meet strong mapping requirements. XenMobile Server now appends URL=tag:microsoft.com,2022-09-14:sid:<user's SID> to Subject Alternative Name (SAN) of certificates.

    • To enable this feature for existing users, customer admins must add the Client Property MICROSOFT_CERTIFICATE_STRONG_MAPPING. For details, see Client Properties.
    • Strong certificate mapping is supported only on Windows Server 2019 and later. For more information, see Microsoft Strong Mapping.
  • Support new iOS restrictions for iOS 17.x version

In Restriction policy for iOS, the following new setting has been added for iOS versions 17.2 and later. Default is On. For more information, see Restrictions Policy.

    • Allow Live Voicemail
  • Manage Config policy text box

When the customer uses Knox Service Plugin along with the Managed Configuration policy, the maximum character length for all the text boxes on Separated Apps Policies increases to 8,192 characters.

  • Support new iOS Setup Assistant Options in Apple Deployment Programs page

Apple adds a few new iOS Setup Assistant Option screens for Apple Business Management enrollment. The following new options are added in the Settings > Apple Deployment Programs > iOS Setup Assistant Options page. You can configure XenMobile Server to skip those screens. For more information, see iOS Setup Assistant Options.

    • Action Button
    • Lockdown Mode
    • Intelligence
    • Camera Button
  • Sync with Apple Business Manager to manage device assignments

XenMobile® Server (XMS) now ensures accurate device assignment by syncing with Apple Business Manager (ABM). This update verifies that only correctly assigned devices appear in XMS, preventing records of devices that have been removed from XMS and assigned to another vendor management solution. For example, if devices are moved to another solution, they no longer appear in XMS after the sync.

XMS now includes a new property remove.unassigned.abm.devices, which enables XMS to remove devices that are no longer assigned to this server. By default, this property is set to False. For more information, see Server properties.

Fixed issues

  • The Legacy MDX alert continues to display on the XMS console even when no Legacy MDX application has been uploaded.[CXM-118971]
  • The Sign-in button becomes greyed out on the XenMobile portal when the password is entered using right-click and paste from the mouse.[CXM-119057]
  • When the Show New View feature is enabled, the device count displays incorrectly even when filters are applied to the device list. [CXM-119372]
  • iOS users are unable to launch Secure Mail/Secure Web applications and experience “Unable to open” error when redirecting from Secure Mail/Secure Web to Secure Hub. [CXM-119658]
  • Device Enrollment Program (DEP) devices continue to perform MDM+MAM enrollment even when the Enrollment Profile is configured as MDM-only. [CXM-119661]
  • When an iOS device has an App Lock policy for an uninstalled application, the device locks with the error “Guided Access app is Unavailable. Please contact your administrator” and the touchscreen becomes unresponsive, even after force reboot. [CXM-119746]
  • When enrolling windows clients with XenMobile MDM solution, delivery group deployment fails. As a result, manual sync operations are required to apply pushed policies. As a workaround, manual deployment to a single device is needed. [CXM-119819]
