What’s new

  • Support for Declarative Device Management (DDM) (Technical Preview):

XenMobile Server adds support for Apple’s Declarative Device Management (DDM) in iOS 15 and later. This feature improves performance and scalability by using a declarative data model, reducing reliance on serialized commands and device polling. For more information, see Leveraging the declarative management data model to scale devices.

XenMobile Server has the following two new properties:

ios.mdm.declarative.management: enables iOS Declarative Device Management (DDM).

ios.mdm.software.update.settings: enables the Software Update Enforcement device policy.

The default value of both properties is False. For more information, see Server properties.

The following declarative device policies are supported when you enable the DDM feature:

  • Support for carrier network related device information retrieval for iOS devices:

XenMobile Server now supports retrieving additional carrier network related device information for each SIM on iOS devices. You can view these details under Device details > Properties > Slot x SIM information. The newly supported fields include:

    • Slot x — carrier settings version
    • Slot x — current carrier network
    • Slot x — current mobile country code (previously listed under Network information)
    • Slot x — current mobile network code (previously listed under Network information)
    • Slot x — is data preferred
    • Slot x — is roaming
    • Slot x — is voice preferred
    • Slot x — Label ID
  • Support OAuth authentication for Microsoft Exchange Online:

Microsoft announces Exchange Online will permanently remove support for Basic authentication with Client Submission (SMTP AUTH) in March 2026 and reaching 100% rejections on April 30, 2026. For more information, see Exchange Online to retire Basic auth for Client Submission (SMTP AUTH).

XenMobile Server supports OAuth authentication for the SMTP server. Enable this capability by selecting Microsoft Exchange Online OAuth 2.0 and providing the required Tenant ID, Client ID, and Client Secret. Citrix recommends switching to OAuth authentication if you use Microsoft Exchange Online. For configuration details, see Notifications.

  • Support to prevent iOS devices from doing proximity setup:

XenMobile Server adds a new option On the next reboot Proximity Setup is not allowed and the pane in Setup Assistant will be skipped for full device wipe. This option prevents iOS devices from doing proximity setup during device setup. The feature is available for iOS 11.3 and later. For more information, see Security actions.

  • Enhance App Inventory to support iOS 26.x app size retrieval:

XenMobile Server supports retrieving app size information for devices running iOS 26.x. You can find the information under Device details > Apps.
