Release Notes for XenMobile Server 10.16 Rolling Patch 9 Release

These release notes describe enhancements and fixed and known issues for XenMobile Server 10.16 Rolling Patch 9. You can download the XenMobile Server 10.16 Rolling Patch 9 software binaries at Sign-in to Download.

What’s new

  • Support for Enable system info in Launcher Configuration device policy:

    A new setting, Enable system info, is added to the Launcher Configuration device policy for Android Enterprise devices. This setting allows Citrix Launcher to display the system info in the status bar. Default is Off and requires Secure Hub 26.8 or later. For more information, see Launcher Configuration Policy.

  • Support for Auto-launch app in Launcher Configuration device policy:

    A new setting, Auto-launch app, is added to the Launcher Configuration device policy for Android Enterprise devices. This setting allows administrators to select one of the Allowed apps to start automatically when Citrix Launcher starts. Default is None (do not auto-launch) and requires Citrix Launcher 26.8 or later. For more information, see Launcher Configuration Policy.

    XenMobile Server has a new property, afw.launcher.auto_launch, that enables administrators to configure the Auto-launch app for Android Enterprise devices that are configured with Launcher Configuration policies. The default value is False. For more information, see Server properties.

  • Support for Search apps option for device apps:

    In the XenMobile Server console, the Devices > Device details > Apps page now includes a new Search apps option.

  • Support for the App Settings device policy:

    A new device policy, App Settings, is added under Configurations (Declarative). This policy allows you to configure app allow and deny lists using Apple’s Declarative Device Management. This policy only supports supervised iOS 27 and later devices. For more information, see App Settings device policy.

    XenMobile Server has a new property, ios.mdm.ios27.ddm.support, that enables the App Settings device policy. The default value is True. For more information, see Server properties.

  • Support for Serial Number in deployment rules for iOS and macOS:

    XenMobile Server now supports a new deployment rule, Serial Number, for iOS and macOS. You add this rule in Deployment Rules > Advanced.

  • Support for Android 17:

    XenMobile Server and Citrix Mobile productivity apps now support Android Enterprise devices running Android 17. For details on security and privacy, see the Android developer documentation.

  • Support for iOS 27:

    XenMobile Server and Citrix Mobile productivity apps are now compatible with iOS 27.

  • Secure Hub APNs certificate renewal:

    The Secure Hub Apple Push Notification service (APNs) certificate for XenMobile Server 10.16 expires on November 9, 2026. This update automatically renews the Secure Hub APNs certificate to a new certificate, valid until September 18, 2027.

Fixed issues

  • iOS app updates through the /api/v1/application/store/{id}/platform/iphone REST API fail with error 1493. [XMHELP-4898]

  • After migrating from a Trial license to a License Activation Service (LAS) license, the license type is not set correctly and the iOS option is missing from the enrollment profile. [XMHELP-4923]

Install XenMobile Server updates

Important:

Before installing this update, ensure that you have upgraded to XenMobile Server version 10.16.0.48. Also take a snapshot of the current settings and create a backup of the database.

For systems configured in cluster mode, follow these steps to update each node, one after the other:

  1. Sign in to your account on the Citrix® website and download the XenMobile Server update (.bin) file to an appropriate location.

  2. In the XenMobile Server console of a node, click Settings > Release Management.

    The Release Management page shows the currently installed software version and a list of any updates, patches, and upgrades that you uploaded.

  3. Under Release Management, click Update. The Update dialog box appears.
  4. Click Browse to upload the update (.bin) file that you downloaded from Citrix downloads page.
  5. Click Update and then, if prompted, restart the XenMobile Server node using command line.

To verify the patch deployment

After installing this patch, sign in to the XenMobile Server console as an administrator, then navigate to Settings > Release Management > Updates. This page shows details about the most recently installed patch.
