Citrix Virtual Delivery Agent for macOS

What’s New in 2603

Citrix VDA for macOS (macOS VDA) 2603 release is another major milestone that contains lots of exciting features and critical enhancements:

  • Session performance optimization over TCP connection – we had put tremendous engineering effort for performance tuning between the releases, after you upgrade to this 2603 version, the FPS under high latency and/or lossy network can see 3 to 10 times improvement when configured with IBTL with decent network bandwidth (this capability is enabled as default) – refer our test metrics for more details.

  • Additionally, ingenious engineering effort made HDX graphics algorithm more smart under turbulent network conditions: in this release of optimization text sharpening etc. capabilities has been added, please refer to article “HDX Graphics Optimization” for more details.

  • EDT MTU discovery and DNS caching are also two critical feature that ensuring better EDT performance and session stability.

  • We now have great news for Enterprise looking for best visual fidelity for their designer use case: YUV444 are fully supported, please refer to article “YUV444 support” for more details.

  • Similarly, for designer and developer used to Apple Trackpad for swift and easy control of application & OS, we now supported Trackpad gestures to full extend.

  • Time zone redirection is another feature that provide seamless end-user experience.

  • For administrators, we also enhanced session metrics in DaaS “Monitor” to facilitate troubleshooting and daily diagnostics.

  • Many critical fixes and improvements.

In summary, CR2603 is another milestone in our release that focuses on performance optimization as well as key enablers for optimal designer use cases. As always, we’re continuing to evolve our roadmap according to customer needs and Apple ecosystem trends.
