Citrix DaaS™

Session authentication

Citrix supports multiple methods for authenticating users into virtual desktop and application sessions. The available options depend on how your environment is configured; specifically, the directory service where user accounts reside (e.g. Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID), the directory service where the session host machines are joined, and the identity provider used for initial logon into the Citrix environment. These factors determine whether authentication can be handled through traditional credentials, smart cards, federated assertions, or certificate-based mechanisms. This section outlines the available authentication methods and how they align with different deployment scenarios.
