Manage service accounts

Managing service accounts is a critical aspect to ensure that they remain in a healthy state and their credentials are up-to-date. This article describes the steps to view, rename, edit, test, and delete a service account.

View service account details

  1. In the DaaS tile, click Manage.
  2. In the left pane, select Administrators.
  3. Select the Service Accounts tab.
  4. Select a service account and view its details in the lower panel. See the properties of each service account along with its associated machine catalogs and troubleshooting tips in the lower panel.

Error or warning icons appear beside a service account if:

  • the service account is in an unhealthy state.
  • the credential of a service account is nearing expiry.

The Troubleshooting tab provides information to diagnose and fix the issues.

Note:

After fixing the issues, do a service account test to refresh the status. For more information, see Test a service account.

Rename a service

  1. In the DaaS tile, click Manage.
  2. In the left pane, select Administrators.
  3. Select the Service Accounts tab.
  4. Select a service account and click Rename.

Edit a service account

  1. In the DaaS tile, click Manage.
  2. In the left pane, select Administrators.
  3. Select the Service Accounts tab.
  4. Select a service account and click Edit.

Test a service account

  1. In the DaaS tile, click Manage.
  2. In the left pane, select Administrators.
  3. Select the Service Accounts tab.
  4. Select a service account and click Test Service Account.
  • For an on-premises Active Directory service account, credentials are verified during testing.
  • For Azure AD service account, application ID and secret along with the required permissions are verified during testing.

Identity and fix the issues according to the recommendations. The Troubleshooting tab provides information to diagnose and fix the issues. After fixing the issues, test the service account.

Delete a service account

Before deleting a service account, make sure that the service account is not used by any MCS machine catalogs.

  1. In the DaaS tile, click Manage.
  2. In the left pane, select Administrators.
  3. Select the Service Accounts tab.
  4. Select a service account and click Delete.
