Fixed issues

Mar 03, 2017

The following issues have been fixed since Version 7.11:

AppDisk

  • Update inventory failed while displaying ‘An internal error occurred Error code 0x2’.

    [#LC5051]
  • After installing VDA version 7.8, chkdsk\ Autochk.exe fails.

    [#LC5390]

Citrix Director

  • A "System unavailable" error occurs after attempting to log onto Citrix Director.

    [#LC5385]

  • User name searches in Citrix Director might return a list of users listed in Citrix Director unrelated to the search.

    [#LC5415]

  • The Monitoring Service fails to insert new session data into the Monitoring database when the Load Evaluator Index policy is enabled. This can lead to Citrix Director not displaying up-to-date information for sessions such as Logon Duration, Current Number of Active Sessions, and others. While the problem shows in Citrix Director, it is caused by an issue in the Delivery Controller. The current version of the Controller addresses the issue.

    [#LC6241]

Citrix Policy

  • With this feature enhancement, the Citrix Group Policy Engine generates additional event log messages while processing Citrix policies.

    [#LC3664]

  • The following error message appears when opening the Citrix Studio and selecting the policy node:
"Changes made to policies outside of this console, such as in PowerShell or management tools from previous versions, resulted in a discrepancy between policies. The assigned objects of policy <policy name> must match. Object Delivery Group has assignments <assignment name> in the "user" component and <assignment name> in the "computer" component."

    [#LC5510]

  • When upgrading from 7.6 to either versions 7.8 or 7.9, certain color schemes in Citrix Studio might appear too dark for text to display properly.

    [#LC5690]

Citrix Studio

  • When two applications have the same ApplicationID, refreshing App-V applications can cause Citrix Studio to set the App-V package name incorrectly.

    [#LC5261]

  • Citrix Studio does not receive logging entries while in the logging node when trying to retrieve large amounts of data.

    [#LC5292]

  • The XenDesktop console consumes high amounts of CPU when searching for users.

    [#LC5691]

  • After upgrading Citrix Studio from 7.8 to 7.9, applications you add after the upgrade appear with no package name or version.

    [#LC5958]

  • Adding an application through the Applications node in Citrix Studio might cause an error where the application is not added. As a workaround, use the Delivery Group node to add applications.

    [#LC5975]

  • When trying to create a new XenDesktop Site through Citrix Studio and pointing to the SQL AlwaysOn Listener, the following error might appear:
"The replica server <servername> could not be contacted. Check the database status on the SQL server. Ensure database server allows remote connections and the firewall is not blocking connections."

    [#LC6010]

Controller

  • When a large number of sessions are launched in a short time, Director might take a long time to show session information.

    [#LC4854]

  • When two applications have the same ApplicationID, refreshing App-V applications can cause Citrix Studio to set the App-V package name incorrectly.

    [#LC5261]

  • If there is any failure in storage repository when copying over to a Machine Creation Services virtual machine, the copy displays as successful despite the copy failing.

    [#LC5430]

  • An ampersand (&) in the title of an application causes the StoreFront XML to become corrupt and display no applications or icons.

    [#LC5505]

  • The XenDesktop console consumes high amounts of CPU when searching for users.

    [#LC5691]

  • After upgrading to XenDesktop 7.9, logging on might occasionally fail due to the NetScaler broker's not sending credentials correctly.

    [#LC5753]

  • Changing the SDK port in the Configuration service causes Citrix Studio to not connect properly.

    [#LC6005]

  • When trying to create a new XenDesktop Site through Citrix Studio and pointing to the SQL AlwaysOn Listener, the following error might appear:
"The replica server <servername> could not be contacted. Check the database status on the SQL server. Ensure database server allows remote connections and the firewall is not blocking connections."

    [#LC6010]

  • When a high number of anonymous users attempt to launch apps/VDAs concurrently, the broker service loses connectivity with the database server.

    [#LC6320]

  • The Monitoring Service fails to insert new session data into the Monitoring database when the Load Evaluator Index policy is enabled. This can lead to Citrix Director not displaying up-to-date information for sessions such as Logon Duration, Current Number of Active Sessions, and others. While the problem shows in Citrix Director, it is caused by an issue in the Delivery Controller. The current version of the Controller addresses the issue.

    [#LC6241]

Universal Print Server

Server

  • The Citrix XTE Server service (XTE.exe) can exit unexpectedly.

    [#LC0759]

  • Attempts to print from Microsoft Internet Explorer might fail with the following error message when using the Citrix Universal Print Driver:
"There was an internal error and Internet Explorer is unable to print this document."

    [#LC4472]

Content Redirection

  • With content redirection enabled for Mailto links, Mailto links that contain commas fail to launch and the following error message appears:
"Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed."
The issue does not occur in console or Remote Desktop sessions.

    [#LC3701]

HDX 3D Pro

  • The context menu might not display correctly on the desktop when the window is maximized.

    [#LC5263]

Printing

  • When a default printer is not set, all mapped printers might fail in sessions.

    [#LC4354]

Server/Site Administration

  • The link to \Device\MUP on VDA for Desktop OS for 32-bit systems might be missing. As a result, the anti-virus software working as a mini driver might not scan the files on the mapped drive.

    [#LC6041]

Session/Connection

  • A USB device might fail to work after it is redirected to Version 7.6.300 of the VDA. The issue occurs when the instance ID of the device is different from the serial number.
To enable this fix, add the Product ID or Vendor ID pairs to the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\icausbb\Parameters
    Name: UsingSerialNumberDevices
    Type: REG_MULTI_SZ
Value: <Note: Next to the comments string, add the vid=xxxx and pid=xxxx pairs. (The syntax for the Value is an ordered list of case insensitive rules where "#" is a line comment and each rule is an ordered vid and pid pair. For example, vid=#-number and pid=#-number. The maximum hex value for a vid/pid is FFFF. If the length of a vid/pid hex value is less than 4, pair the number with zeroes (0). For example, if the vid is 12 and pid is 13; the vid/pid pairs should be vid=0012, pid=0013. Each rule has a fixed length: 17, no spaces at the beginning or the end of the rule. Examples: #vid=FFFF, #pid=FFFF #vid=0012, #pid=0013.)>

    [#LC5035]

  • With Excelhook enabled and after applying hotfix ICATS760WX64028, the Excel window does not minimize when clicking the Excel icon in the taskbar.

    [#LC5060]

  • An external USB DVD drive that is mapped into a session as a mapped client drive can cause slow session performance.

To enable the fix, set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Picadm\Parameters
    Name: OptimizeUSBSlowRead
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Value: 1

    [#LC5231]

  • When sessions connected through the Cisco WAAS Gateway attempt to transfer files of large size due to buffer overflow on the VDA side, the VDA might exit unexpectedly.

    [#LC5371]

  • After upgrading a VDA from Version 7.6.300 to Version 7.8, clipboard sync might stop working.

    [#LC5699]

  • With Framehawk enabled, the Scroll button on a mouse might not perform any action in a XenDesktop 7.9 VDA session.

    [#LC5779]

  • When configured for Federated Authentication Services, a VDA might stop accepting connections and become unresponsive at the "Welcome" screen until it is restarted.

    [#LC5978]

  • If you power off or force a remote PC to restart while in a user session, all audio drivers might be disabled when the restart completes.

    [#LC6009]

  • With the Citrix policy "Auto Client Reconnect" set to "Prohibited," attempts to launch VM Hosted Apps might fail.

    [#LC6103]

  • Changes you make to "Advanced System Settings" under "Visual Effects" apply to the current VDA session but might not be retained for subsequent sessions. To make such changes persistent, you must set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix
    Name: EnableVisualEffect
    Type: DWORD
    Value: 0

    [#LC6163]

Smart Cards

  • When switching between user sessions and Microsoft Remote Desktop sessions, in-session smart card-aware applications such as Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word might not be able to use smart cards. As a result, various error messages might appear. Also, testing the in-session smart card support with "CertUtil /scinfo" in a Command window might result in the following error message:
"The Microsoft Smart Card Resource manager is not running."

    [#LC5839]

System Exceptions

  • A non-handled exception copying from USB devices might cause the operating system to experience an error and a blue screen appears.

    [#LC4782]

  • When you log on to a VDA running on Windows Server 2008 R2 through a remote desktop and launch certain third-party applications, the applications might exit unexpectedly.

  • Citrix Print Manager exits unexpectedly when attempting to map a network printer using the CreateClientPrinter command.

    [#LC685]

Session/Connection

  • The Session Server Startup time might be unexpectedly high for some user sessions in EdgeSight reports.

    [#LC2460]

  • This fix addresses the improper handling of command line parameters from within published desktops as in the following example:

If you run "C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\system32\iexplore.exe" -noframemerging http://www.google.com, Internet Explorer misinterprets the parameter and resolves the URL as http://-noframemerging%20http//www.google.com.

    [#LC3660]

  • Attempts to append data to files on a mapped client drive might fail when the files are opened by users with write-only permissions. The issue occurs when running the PowerShell command "get-process | out-file -filepath "\\client\c$\temp\proclist.txt" -Append" for the second time.

    [#LC3895]

  • In XenApp 7.6.300, users with limited visibility to apps in a multi-forest environment might not be able to launch apps.

    [#LC4374]

  • When starting a new session, attempts by the Citrix Audio Redirection Service to connect to a virtual channel session that contains invalid information might fail.

    [#LC5024]

Examples: #vid=FFFF, #pid=FFFF #vid=0012, #pid=0013.)>

    [#LC5035]

  • With Excelhook enabled and after applying hotfix ICATS760WX64028, the Excel window does not minimize when clicking the Excel icon in the taskbar.

    [#LC5060]

  • An external USB DVD drive that is mapped into a session as a mapped client drive can cause slow session performance.

To enable the fix, set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Picadm\Parameters
    Name: OptimizeUSBSlowRead

    [#LC5371]

  • With Special Folder Redirection enabled, published applications might fail to launch and the following error message appears:

"The Citrix server is unable to process your request to start this published application."

    [#LC5593]

  • Attempts to launch applications might be slow or can fail. To enable the fix, you must install Group Policy Client Side Console Hotfix GPCSExt170W2K8R2X64008 (or its replacement) that contains Fix #LC4956.

    [#LC5661]

  • After upgrading a VDA from Version 7.6.300 to Version 7.8, clipboard sync might stop working.

User Experience

  • When attempting to record video using OneNote, webcam redirection fails, causing recording to fail.

    [#LC5205]

Virtual Desktop Components - Other

  • Machine Creation Services (MCS) created machines do not honor machine account password GPOs, causing passwords on the MCS machines to not reset.

    [#LC4440]

  • When launching an App-v package using the Microsoft App-V 5.0 infrastructure integrated with XenDesktop, the App-V package might fail to synchronize and the following exception occurs:

    "Cannot start <applicationname>"

    [#LC5483]

  • Attempts to load an App-V application through the network might result in the following error message:

"Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection."

    [#LC5828]

  • After upgrading from Version 7.7 of XenApp to Version 7.8, attempts to launch App-V applications might fail. The issue occurs when the value of the "TargetIn" boolean is set to "0" instead of "1." Also, setting the value manually might not have any effect. When you refresh the application, it might revert.

    [#LC5861]

  • When you add an App-V package that contains multiple applications to Citrix Studio and publish all the applications inside the package, only the first application might start in the user session.
