Citrix VDA Upgrade Service (VUS)

The Citrix VDA Upgrade Service (VUS) is a component of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) that facilitates a streamlined upgrade process for persistent Virtual Delivery Agents (VDAs) within your Citrix environment. The service helps keep your environments up to date with the latest VDA versions, enhancing performance and security, and enabling new Citrix DaaS features.

Administrators can leverage VUS to check for updates, schedule upgrades, and monitor upgrade progress. Upgrades can be initiated immediately or scheduled for a specific date and time, enabling you to choose the best time for your upgrades.

Upgrading VDAs has never been easier. Install the VDA Upgrade Agent on your VDAs or images, right-click on the machine or machine catalog in Web Studio, select “Upgrade VDAs,” and select the options that best fit your environment.

Before upgrading, review the upgrade cycle options. Two upgrade tracks are available for your VDAs: Long-Term Service Release (LTSR) and Current Release (CR). LTSR has a longer support lifecycle, providing more stability and less frequent upgrades. CR versions are released more frequently, providing the latest and greatest features.
