Oracle C3 virtualization environments (Preview)
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops manages your Oracle Compute Cloud@Customer (Oracle C3) workloads through a Citrix-managed Oracle C3 plug-in in the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops control plane. With this plug-in, you can create connections to Oracle C3, create catalogs, and power manage machines in the catalog.
Note:
- Oracle C3 for Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 2603 is only available for customers with Hybrid Rights or Universal License.
- Isolated Oracle C3 environments are not currently supported.
Prerequisites
Before you begin:
- Ensure that the Oracle C3 REST API is available for your environment. The
<system_name>.<domain name>of the Oracle C3 is required for API connection. See Using the API to Manage Compute Cloud@Customer Resources. - Prepare the IAM configuration
.inifile and private key used for Oracle C3 authentication. Ensure that the region is set to<system_name>.<domain_name>. - If Oracle C3 is protected by a private CA certificate, obtain the certificate thumbprint for trust validation during connection setup.
Key steps
- Set up your Oracle C3 environment.
- Create a connection to the Oracle C3 endpoint.
-
Create a machine catalog.
Note:
Before creating a catalog, ensure one or more Oracle C3 machines are available and VDAs are installed on those machines.
- Create a delivery group.
- Migrate any remaining unmanaged Oracle C3 machines into managed catalogs or delivery groups.
Where to go next
- Install core components
- Install VDAs
- Create a site
- For creating and managing a connection, see Connection to Oracle C3
