Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops

Virtual Channel Plugin Manager

Introduction

Virtual channel plugin manager is designed to deploy plugins across client endpoints for specified applications. The plugin manager detects specific applications running on the VDA and prompts the user to install the plugin on the endpoint to achieve the best experience when running the application.

Users can choose to install the plugin, skip it or deny the installation. The plugin manager provides flexibility to manage the plugins on all endpoints - managed or unmanaged

For Example: Microsoft Teams [New] has a new architecture (SlimCore Optimization), that requires a plugin to be installed on the endpoints for the optimization to work. The Virtual channel plugin manager can deploy the plugins across your endpoints. For more information, see new VDI solution for Teams
